Camphill Hermanus

Funding

Camphill School is an independent day school and is Section 18A exempt. As such, it receives a limited subsidy from the Western Cape Education Department (WCED), which covers only about 23% of the School’s budget. More than 90% of our learners are drawn from disadvantaged local communities, where most families are able to make only a very small contribution to the school fees. The School is, therefore, obliged to raise approximately 65% of its budgeted income from other sources.

It makes use of a number of strategies to meet its financial needs:

  • By submitting fundraising appeals to local and international philanthropic and corporate donors
  • By appealing for in-kind donations of various kinds
  • By organising several fundraising events a year
  • By means of promoting child sponsorships
  • By encouraging voluntary participation in projects, eg maintenance of buildings
  • By means of bequests

If you would like to contribute in any way to sustaining this inspiring Place of Hope, Place of Love, please contact the Camphill School Fundraiser:
